FURTHER CONTACTS
I recommend getting in touch with “Carers Connected”, run by the Christian charity “Embracing Age”. Carers Connected is for informal carers looking after a loved one (partner, parent or adult child). It offers friendly Zoom gatherings for mutual support and praying together. All are welcome to join the one hour sessions, led by volunteer hosts, which include time to chat and share experiences, a short reflection with a poem/song usually with a Christian theme, and time to pray for one another at the end. Carers can stay connected outside of the weekly gatherings via the ‘Weekly Message’ – a weekly email with the poem, song, or bible verses, which may have been shared in the gatherings, along with any relevant news, and via a Facebook group. The Zoom groups meet on Wednesdays at 7.15pm and Thursdays at 3pm.
For info please go to www.embracingage.org.uk/for-carers , or contact Sarah, the Carers Connected Co-ordinator, via carers@embracingage.org.uk or 07964 895477.
If you have found this website useful or helpful in some way then I would be encouraged to hear from you! And if you would like to respond by sharing something of your own experience of caring at home for a loved one then do contact me at comfortforcarers26@gmail.com
Yours in friendship,
Glynda
